Room With a View: Stagecoach Inn

By R. Chad Dove

The Stagecoach Inn in Salado recently reopened following a two year, multiphase renovation. The historic property was built in the 1860s and now features 48 guest rooms, including four suites with balconies and outdoor patios. The hotel is located on Main Street and nestled among six acres of ancient oak trees along the southern banks of Salado Creek.

The project included the installation of hand-built custom beds, lighting and textiles, as well as plant-lined private outdoor lounge areas. The Stagecoach Inn provides groups with 7,000 square feet of multipurpose event space, with more coming in 2019. Additional amenities include the Stagecoach Inn Restaurant, The Shady Villa Bar and a heated outdoor pool.

“We are excited to finally be able to share what we’ve been working on the past two years,” says co-developer Clark Lyda. “Stagecoach Inn and its generations of guests hold a special place in our hearts and we hope the efforts to revitalize and honor this treasured landmark will be appreciated by all who walk through its doors.”
