Snowmass Celebrates 50 Years

Groups meeting in Snowmass during the 2017/2018 winter season and especially over the weekend of Dec. 15-17 will notice there is a party underway in conjunction with Snowmass Ski Area’s golden anniversary. 

ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND
» Dec. 15 – The official 50-year landmark day is being recognized with a singleday lift ticket for $6.50 (for that Friday only at Snowmass), the price that was charged on opening day in 1967. A retro party at Elk Camp Restaurant that night features special 50th anniversary enter – tainment followed by fireworks over Fanny Hill. 

» Dec. 16 – Saturday marks the return of Banana Days, an on-mountain scavenger hunt with certificates for fun local prizes hidden inside plastic bananas, and fea – tures a 50th Anniversary Golden Gala at Viceroy Snowmass.

» Dec. 17 – A day of vintage skiing and rid – ing with a special Cabin Jump (where athletes jump over a log cabin), Rail Jam, and on-mountain community picnic at Spider Sabich Picnic and Race Area is on tap for Sunday

» All Weekend – Many restaurants in Snowmass will offer a $19.67 and/or $50 prix fixe menu.

SEASON-LONG CELEBRATIONS » New gold signs will mark all of the orig – inal ski trails on the mountain. » A new mural in Base Village featuring a timeline of the history of Snowmass will surround the construction site of the new Limelight Hotel.
