Two Properties Added to Carmel Boutique Inns Portfolio

Monte Verde Inn and Casa de Carmel, located in Carmel-by-the-Sea and only four blocks from Carmel Beach, have been acquired by Carmel Boutique Inns. Carmel-by-the-Sea is 1 square mile of unincorporated city set along Carmel Bay on the Monterey Peninsula. Crystal Petersson, general manager of the company’s iconic 1929 Cypress Inn co-owned with actress Doris Day, also serves as GM of the two new properties—co-owned by Kate Levett-Crayne and her husband Casey Crayne. The 10-room Monte Verde Inn underwent a soft renovation this winter and has a Spanish- Mediterranean exterior while the adjacent seven-room Casa de Carmel is more streamlined and has been rebranded under the inn’s name. Carmel Boutique Inns is adding the two properties back into its portfolio after owning both until 2008.
