» DESCRIPTION: Research facility/summer scientific field station.
» LOCATION: Historic mining town of Gothic, 4 miles from Mt. Crested Butte and 8 miles from Crested Butte.
» CAPACITY/AVAILABILITY: Events, groups and conferences of more than 30 people in September and October. Smaller groups of six to 30 can sometimes be hosted at other times, but facilities are usually filled with students and scientists from late June to mid-August. From mid-November to mid-May, access to RMBL is by skis or snowshoes only.
» MEETING/FUNCTION SPACE: Completed in late 2014, the Community Center’s main hall can hold 196 participants theater-style or 100 for meals, and the conference room accommodates 18 at one table. In the summer/fall a 20-by-30-foot tent is set up outside the Community Center and is included in the rental price. Additional small meeting spaces are available for breakouts.
» ACCOMMODATIONS: 135 conference participants can be hosted on-site in Gothic, with 60 beds in premium or higher-end cabins and 75 beds in mid- or budget-rate cabins. Off-site housing is available nearby in Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte.
» CATERING: Groups larger than 30 must have meals catered.
» THIS & THAT: Wireless internet is available, but currently there is no cell service in Gothic.
