AFR Event Furnishings is the second largest furniture rental company in America, with five divisions including Residential, Commercial, Special Events, Trade Show and Clearance Centers with 22 distribution centers across the United States, but this was not always the case.
Founded in 1975 in Philadelphia, American Furniture Rentals is now 90 times its original size. The 22 distribution centers around the country together create more than 1 million square feet of every color and style of furniture.
AFR has expanded the company over the past 40 years because of high customer demand for its services and products. Just because they have been around a while, AFR is not afraid to keep up with the times. Jose Ramirez, the marketing manager at AFR, says that midcentury modern and bold colors are really in right now for any event.
AFR has accommodated a wide variety of events. With plenty of experience, AFR has also rented furniture to more unique events like Comic-Con and even Beyoncé’s dressing room.
When asked why AFR has remained so successful, Ramirez puts it simply: “Furniture is like water—you need it to survive.”
