Whether it’s with friends and family or for a business trip, traveling over the holidays can be stressful. Airports are crowded, lines are long, hotels are booked and weather is unreliable. We’ve gathered some of the best travel apps out there to help make your holiday season a little more jolly and bright.
TravelSmart
Allianz Global Assistance has launched the latest version of its app for travelers, TravelSmart. Version 2.0 provides travelers with new features including real-time flight information, access to travel insurance information, international emergency numbers, important medical resources, and one-touch dialing to receive customer service and travel assistance.
“The TravelSmart app solves a number of important issues that consumers face when traveling abroad,” said Joe Mason, chief marketing officer at Allianz Global Assistance USA. “Now anyone can use their smartphone to quickly and easily navigate first aid and medical issues and reach our travel assistance department with the touch of a button.”
TravelSmart can be found on the Allianz Global Assistance website or can be downloaded for free in the Apple App Store.
Google Trips
Google Trips is the new planning app from Google that allows you to easily explore your destination and stay organized while doing so. The program automatically maps out half-day or full-day itineraries with suggestions for activities to do and things to see. If customers aren’t happy with the picks, they can tap the “magic wand” to see different nearby sites. Additionally, the app can show users cool things within walking distance from museums to cafes to beaches.
Travelers can keep all of their confirmation numbers and reservations organized with Google Trips. The app automatically gathers all of a user’s travel information from their emails and organizes it in the app. The best part? The entire app is available offline so this information can be accessed whenever necessary.
