Big Hat Wines Introduces First Colorado Wine in a Box

By M+E Staff

Kingman Winery, a Denver winemaker producing 17 wines from grapes grown near Palisade, has introduced Big Hat Wines packaged in 3-liter boxes. The same wine sold in bottles by Kingman Winery is now offered in nonglass packaging. With advance notice, Kingman Winery can package different volumes up to 21-liter boxes and can prepare custom blends for volume customers wanting a unique Colorado house wine.

“Boxed wines retain their peak aromas and flavors for four to six weeks after opening, compared to two to three days for opened bottles of wine, so there’s no loss,” says Doug Kingman. “Also, the 3-liter box contains the equivalent of four 750ml bottles, but the cost is less than for two glass bottles.”

Kingman Winery has a tasting room and hosts events and dinners at its winery throughout the year.
