Put yourself in the middle of the action next time you visit British Columbia. All three of the movies in the “Descendants” global franchise were filmed in Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Fans can snap selfies with popular characters, unlock clips from “Descendants 3” played against the back-drop of where they were actually filmed, and complete exciting missions.
The first-of-its-kind self-guided adventure was built by Vancouver-based AR/VR company QuestUpon and created by Tourism Vancouver and Disney Channel. Visit the App Store and Google Play and download the free QuestUpon app. Then, select Disney “Descendants 3” in Vancouver.
The AR adventure encourages fans to visit key filming sites, such as Britannia Mine Museum and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and Hatley Castle and the BC Parliament Buildings on Vancouver Island. You can use your phone to unlock site-specific film clips, movie- and tourism-inspired trivia, scavenger hunt-style missions, and AR animations, such as a formidable dragon and avatars of fan favorites, including Mal, Evie, Audrey and Uma.
