Instead of going through the hassle of downloading yet another app on your device, Joseph Tzeng has an alternative: Rendezville, a completely customizable web app that designs a schedule for conferences and festivals specifically related to your interests and needs. “Rendezville’s mission is to offer a cost-effective solution that enables event organizers to build event apps with a high engagement rate,” Tzeng says.
Event planners can create an account on Rendezville’s website and enter event information such as the date, times, event description and a channel name. Once that is complete, planners can add an app icon and further details such as a speaker, performer and venue.
Attendees can open the URL and add the app to their home screen, and also favorite certain events by clicking the heart icon, which helps build personalized schedules.
Rendezville is free to try for both attendees and event planners. Planners publishing an event, however, will be charged a onetime fee of $1,000 once they are absolutely satisfied with the app. “By staying out of the app stores but having all the functionality of an app, we are able to keep prices below most app creators, but still have a highly beautiful, functional, and interactive festival and conference schedule experience,” Tzeng says.
