Transform the Workplace Through Improvisation

By R. Chad Dove

Four Day Weekend was founded in 1997 in Fort Worth by a group of comedian friends. In addition to weekly improvisational comedy shows every Friday and Saturday night in its Dallas and Fort Worth theaters, the group offers improv courses and workshops for business groups in its training center.

Attendees are taught how to apply the principles of improvisation to their professional and personal lives. Through improvisation activities, business groups learn how behaviors can affect creativity, communication, empathy, listening, storytelling and understanding.

These workshops can be tailored to focus on spec ific industries, jobs and goals. Guests have some laughs and leave the improv workshops with new skills that benefit them both in the workplace and in their personal lives.

“Whether they realize it or not, everybody is an improviser. Four Day Weekend improv workshops are designed to raise this awareness and help people become more effective in their role as an improviser, both personally and professionally,” says Frank Ford, performer, founding member and part owner of Four Day Weekend. “Our ‘Yes, and…’ philosophy really resonates with our corporate clients because it is a very positive and forward-thinking philosophy that brings business groups together to change workplace culture for the better.”
