Hello Readers,
Fresh off her Chicago N.I.C.E. award for Best Not-for-Profit Event in 2017, event planner Mindy Loughead (of Perfectly Planned Events) has worked her magic again in a memorable fundraiser for the Home Care Physicians/House Calls program for the Western Region of Northwestern Medicine.
Held at the Grand Ballroom inside the Westin Lombard in late September, the 4th Annual “Home Care for the Home Team” event attracted 450 attendees who rallied together and raised more than $400,000 in essential funding for the program, which was started in 1997 by Tom Cornwell, MD. Today, he and his colleagues provide one-on-one based medical care to homebound individuals and have made more than 100,000 house calls.
The party’s theme was set up as an indoor tailgate party with gourmet food and cocktails (including a Bloody Mary station), live-streamed football and various interactive games such as giant Jenga, bags and Yardzee. Guests were asked to come in casual attire, such as jerseys and jeans, to add to the laidback, fun environment.
Loughead planned some extra creative elements for the night such as turf-covered tables and foam fingers in the centerpieces and an auctioneer that ran through a breakaway banner for his introduction. There was also a wide range of creative seating, including bleachers next to a football field-inspired dance floor, as well as a slow-mo photo booth. Here are some sights from the night.
