If there were a category called Best of Parties, the 12th annual Michigan Meetings + Events Best of party in May would be the hands-down winner.
Held at the historic City Opera House (a designated Michigan State Historic Site) in downtown Traverse City (likely one of the venue’s more rockin’ gatherings in its 126-year history), the extravaganza saluted everyone from meeting planners to florists to caterers to host cities. A juggler (Tommy Tropic) and aerialists (The Greatest of Ease) entertained eventgoers as they noshed on tasty treats and cold refreshments while watching the exciting awards ceremony, emceed once again by the affable Kurt Colone from Mike Staff Productions.
Awards were presented in 33 categories, plus seven industry superstars were recog – nized in the 2017 Hall of Fame selections.
Following the ceremony, attendees head – ed back to the new Hotel Indigo, the event’s host hotel, for a celebratory nightcap.
