This weekend is the annual Uptown Art Fair. The three-day event features professional artwork in 12 different types of media, including ceramics, painting, jewelry and more. 350-plus artists from around the world will feature their artwork along Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue.
The fair is more than just showcasing; it also features an assortment of other attractions. There will be a youth art fair inside Calhoun Square on Saturday and Sunday. The fair provides young artists between the ages of 8-18 with the opportunity to show off their talents. A family imagination station sponsored by the Northern Clay Center also will take place over the weekend.
And don’t forget the food—indulge in tasty treats from 25 different vendors. Or, kick back and relax with a brew from the Summit Beer Garden while listening to live music. The Kitchen Window Culinary Arts Competition will feature teams of chefs and artists to create the most stunning culinary art.
The Uptown Art Fair is the winner of more than 130 International Festivals and Events Association Pinnacle Awards. Nearly 400,000 people attend annually, making it the second-most-attended event in Minnesota after the State Fair.
