Small parties often shine as fun examples of how event planners create a guest experience that flows from start to finish.
The team at Star Trax Events coordinated a bar mitzvah at Tam O’Shanter Country Club in West Bloomfield recently themed “Nothin’ But Noah,” which centered around the youth’s interests.
Jennifer Ajlouny, event planner, says several special treatments helped to make it all work. The black, blue and silver theme was modern, clean and sleek.
“Greeting guests at the entrance with mini margarita shots and a basketball hoop that read ‘Take a Shot, Take a Seat’ allowed us to introduce the theme from the start of the evening.”
Other notable touches were a custom hanging pretzel display in the lobby and a grilled cheese truck for late-night snacks, which the club’s staff also passed around while the attendees were on the dance floor.
“This was one of our favorite parties to date. It was the right combination of edited choices, juxtaposition of elegant and urban, and most of all it represented the family for exactly who they were,” says Harris Van Cleef, event planner. “The personal touch of adding a creatively designed thank-you note in every napkin was very impactful for the guests. Keep it short and bold, but beautifully designed.”
Adds Ajlouny: “For us, it’s about creating an experience from the moment guests walk through the door to the moment they leave. Implementing custom, thoughtful details to ensure guests will remember your event for years to come.”
Mandell Display Design handled the décor with Jeffrey Floral Architecture coordinating the flowers. Rentals included blue fizz goblets, mirrored bars/ back bars, metal top tables, black acrylic dance floor and clear California chairs with black pads.
