Plan Destination Meetings in Colorado

By Lauren Pahmeier

Whether a team is still working from home, or has made a phased return to the office, the past few months have seemed monotonous with not as many in-person meetings and events to break up work weeks. Meeting with a group boosts motivation, and Zoom meetings can’t compare when it comes to rallying morale. After months at home, planning small meetings and corporate getaways away from home is a great way to motivate and revitalize a team’s performance–especially when the destination provides all of the benefits that Colorado offers. Planning small destination meetings at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs gives professionals an opportunity to see all that Colorado has to offer, while still traveling safely.

A Myriad of Spacious Meeting Venues

The Broadmoor has plenty of large meeting spaces conducive to promoting social distancing. In the all new Exhibit Hall, groups can meet as a whole and then break into smaller groups without crowding within its 125,000 square feet of exhibit space and breakout rooms. The Overlook at Cloud Camp, located above The Broadmoor at 9,300 feet, offers 1,500 square feet of meeting space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Colorado Springs and the resort. The Fish House, located between The Broadmoor’s golf courses, offers both lake and mountain views in a rustic setting. The Mountain View Terrace, connected to both the Rocky Mountain Ballroom and The Broadmoor West Ballroom, offers a covered outdoor space perfect for meals and breaks, with the Colorado breeze flowing.

A Range of Outdoor Activities

Although everything is bigger in Texas, Colorado has plenty of space to spread out in too. Specifically, The Broadmoor has 5,000 acres of land to explore, filled with outdoor experiences that can’t be found in Texas. Half-day or full-day climbing trips are tailored to guests’ skill levels. Ziplining above the South Cheyenne Canyon with views of Seven Falls allows people to breathe in fresh air and take in views not possible in Texas. Hikes can be customized to guests’ preferences, whether groups prefer informational or strenuous hikes, spanning the forested gateways of North Cheyenne Cañon, Bear Creek Cañon on the Section 16 Trail, or to the top of Pikes Peak with a full-day trip.

A Destination Within Driving Distance

As travel has become more involved in the past few months, many trips have been cancelled due to a lack of or ban of flights. Driving to a destination has become more frequent than usual, as it ensures less exposure to others. Luckily, Colorado is reachable from Texas by road trip–and is well worth the drive. Get out of the Texas heat and opt for Colorado mountains, dry climate, and beautiful weather.

Secluded Accommodations

Just as Texans can drive to The Broadmoor to ensure less exposure, guests can book private accommodations as well. Brownstones at the resort have full gourmet kitchens, expansive living spaces, private terraces and balconies, washers and dryers, and gorgeous views of Colorado all around. Other options include cabins at The Ranch at Emerald Valley, where cabins surrounded by Pike National Forest have dedicated staff to provide all-inclusive experiences. At Cloud Camp, cabins provide views of Pikes Peak while sitting 3,000 feet above The Broadmoor. The Broadmoor’s third Wilderness Experience, the Orvis Endorsed – Fly Fishing Camp, has seven cabins that give proximity to daily guided fly fishing trips on a private section of the Tarryall River, located 75 miles west of the resort.

Sponsored by The Broadmoor

Situated at the gateway to the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, The Broadmoor and its Wilderness Experience properties of The Ranch at Emerald Valley, Cloud Camp and Fly Fishing Camp encompass 5,000 acres. The resort campus has 784 rooms, suites and cottages. It includes two championship golf courses, an award-winning spa and fitness center, nationally recognized tennis staff and program, 23 retail boutiques and ten restaurants, including Colorado’s only Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond restaurant, Penrose Room, as well as ten additional cafes and lounges. Colorado Springs Airport is 15 minutes from the resort, and Denver International Airport is 70 minutes north of Colorado Springs.
