Visit Milwaukee Adds Three Members to Marketing and Communications Team

By M+E Staff

Visit Milwaukee recently hired three new employees to its marketing and communications team. Claire Hanan, communications manager, and Emily Tau, communications coordinator, will work with travel writers to showcase the best of the Greater Milwaukee area and increase the economic impact of tourism in the region. Amanda Buhrman joined the marketing team as digital marketing manager. Buhrman will lead Visit Milwaukee’s website redesign and will be responsible for all digital marketing efforts.

In their previous positions, Hanan was senior editor for Milwaukee Magazine, Tau served as the head of administration and marketing for Design Fugitives—an art and architectural design firm—and Buhrman was the ECommerce program manager at the technology consulting firm, Perficient. Hanan also worked for Simon & Schuster and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri in 2010. Before Design Fugitives, Tau worked for six years at AJ Bombers, a popular Milwaukee restaurant, serving as the general manager in her final year with the company. She graduated from Marquette University in 2010. Buhrman has 10 years of experience in digital marketing roles. She graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2007 with her associate’s degree in marketing management.

“We’re thrilled to have Claire, Emily and Amanda as a part of the VISIT Milwaukee team,” says Megan Suardini, vice president of marketing and communications at the CVB. “Their skills and experience speak for themselves, and I am confident they will contribute to our goal of making the Greater Milwaukee area a top travel destination.”
