• New Conference Center Coming to Hillsboro

The Washington County Fair Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, will be welcoming a new event and conference center this summer. The 89,000-square-foot Wingspan Event & Conference Center will provide year-round opportunities for large community gatherings. The center will include exposition space, a state-of-the-art conference center with a commercial kitchen, concessions, a large entry plaza, and an outdoor exhibit area that opens into the interior grounds of the fair complex. The new venue will offer various room configurations sized to accommodate consumer shows, conferences and trade shows, corporate meetings and seminars, banquets and receptions, fundraisers, festivals, spec- tator events and a variety of other community uses.

 

Located in Oregon’s wine country, The Allison Inn and Spa is offering some new team-building options for meeting planners. Experiences include:

» Smith Teas Tasting: Claire Boyer, Smith Teamaker’s head of education, offers a hands-on class uncovering the exotic world of tea.

» Lotion Blending: Awaken the senses and heighten creativity with a hands-on lotion and essential oil-blending workshop.

 

The International Floral Distributors each year teams up with Produce Marketing Association and a designer to create the “Flower Trends Forecast.” For 2020, the organization enlisted Helen Miller, AIFD, CAFA, CF, and Derek Woodruff, AIFD, CFD, CF, PFCI, AAF. Miller owns Flowers & Such in Adrian, Michigan. Her work has been showcased in publications such as Floral Management, Florists Review, and The Knot.

 

The Pacific Northwest is now home to a new and unique subterranean event space: The Sanctuary at The Society Hotel Bingen in Bingen, Washington. This one-of-a-kind dome-shaped building is tucked into a hillside in the northeast corner of the hotel property, which is located in the Columbia River Gorge.

The Sanctuary is now accepting reservations for wellness retreats and private groups for yoga, meditation, qigong, musical performances, sound healing, dance parties and more.
