Round Rock is now home to America’s largest indoor water park: Kalahari Resorts and Conventions. The venue showcases a safari theme and includes 22 life-size sculptures that weigh up to 10,000 pounds each and measure up to 10 feet tall. The collection includes 12 elephants, seven zebras, a mother and baby rhinoceros, and a cape buffalo. The 350-acre resort complex includes 3 acres of outdoor pools, 975 guest rooms, a 223,000-square-foot water park, 80,000-square-foot Tom Foolerys Adventure Park, five restaurants, 10,000 square feet of retail space, a spa, and 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space for conventions and events, including a rustic Event Barn. The water park includes 20 pools and whirlpools, 30 waterslides, a rock climbing wall, grotto swim-up bar, cabanas and waterfalls.

Connecting the Community

Last summer, as communities across the state reeled, the CVB launched the “We Need Us!” campaign as a rally cry and reminder on the importance of supporting the businesses that make Minneapolis so unique.

“It really came from this question of, ‘How can we support our community that’s hurting in so many ways and make locals feel comfortable making those choices?’” says senior vice president of destination branding & strategy Courtney Ries.
