Private Retreat Option for Hyatt Regency Tamaya

Groups can get the keys to the castle for an exclusive retreat at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, located on 500 acres of the Pueblo of Santa Ana between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Only 200 of the 350 available rooms are required for a buyout from November through January; 250 rooms in February and March; and 300 rooms between April and October. A nearly 2-mile private road leads to the resort entrance for true seclusion, and there is a wide variety of activities on site such as Native American cultural activities led by members of the Santa Ana Pueblo; equestrian options ranging from group rodeos and horseback rides to volunteer opportunities with the Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program; golf at the Twin Warriors Golf Club; and extreme relaxation at Tamaya Mist Spa & Salon. There are 29,000 square feet of indoor and 25,000 square-feet of outdoor meeting space, some patio views of the Sandia Mountains.

Horses at the Heart of Leadership Training

Set on 57 acres in the Sangre de Cristo foothills in Sante Fe, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado has entered a new partnership with EQUUS. The local organization offers an innovative self-mastery and leadership development approach for individuals and organizations, utilizing horses to help participants solve challenges differently and live more meaningful lives. Adventure coordinators at the Four Seasons also can help groups plan other outdoor pursuits, and there is a 10,000-square-foot spa that offers regionally inspired bodywork, spa treatments and massages as well as mini treatment add-ons.

Set between Pacific foothills and the sparkling San Francisco Bay, Berkeley is a spirited city that will surprise anyone who still considers it only as the counter-culture center of the ‘60s. Home to the University of California, Berkeley, the city features an authentic (if endearingly off-beat) college town vibe that is perfect for meetings and events.

In the absence of a dedicated convention center, Berkeley offers unique venues that reflect the vibrant local scene while at the same time, offer big-city service and amenities.

When you want to escape the lingering Texas heat for a few days in the fall, but you don’t really want to head north to more blustery conditions, Sonoma or Monterey, located northeast and south of San Francisco respectively, are fabulous options for short retreats or group getaways. And, lucky for you, if you live in or near Dallas, both destinations have direct flights from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, making your trip stress-free.
