• New Michigan CVB Meeting Planners Guide Provides Ideas About Great Times In The Great Lakes State

The theme “We’re ready to help” shines throughout the new 2018 Meeting Planners Guide to Michigan Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus (MACBV).

The Meet in Michigan guide, produced in partnership with the MACVB and Michigan Meetings + Events magazine, is packed with creative help for meeting planners.

“From large conventions or small meetings to family reunions or getaways with friends, our MACVB member bureaus have plenty to offer throughout the entire planning process. As an added benefit, many of those CVB services are free,” reports Linda K. Hoath, MACVB president.

The guide includes an association directory with contact numbers and websites, plus stories spotlighting Michigan as a four-season meetings-and-events destination.

“Are you looking for ways to streamline your meeting or event-planning process? I’d suggest working with a local or regional CVB or Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) in Michigan as your first point of contact,” recommends Larisa Draves, MACVB’s executive director, who spearheaded the 2018 project. “These organizations are the experts about their individual Michigan communities.”

The articles feature ideas on how planners have worked with CVBs and showcase some of the success stories of the resulting events.

Other guide topics explore ideas about creating experiences for meeting participants, a recap of economic growth around Michigan that is giving planners innumerable choices for big to small events, a primer on how to mix business with leisure in Michigan’s water wonderland, and four reasons (and places) to go, whatever the weather.
