Blue Mountain Resort, home to Pennsylvania’s highest vertical at 1,082 feet in the Pocono Mountains, has named ski and snowboard industry veteran Luke Wynen its new director of sales. In this role, Wynen will take charge of developing, overseeing, and coordinating all sales initiatives for the resort in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.

A former professional snowboarder, Wynen was most recently the director of sales training and marketing manager for Buckman’s Ski and Snowboard Shops, developing and overseeing all sales training and customer service programs as well as managing marketing initiatives for the Pennsylvania-based enterprise with outlets throughout the state. He previously served as sales manager and general manager of Saucony Creek Brewing Co. + Gastropub in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, overseeing day-to-day operations and marketing while helping double the company’s distribution footprint in seven states.

“Demonstrating tremendous growth and performance throughout his career, Luke is a results-driven leader with exceptional knowledge of both the hospitality and the outdoor industries,” says Jim Dailey, general manager for Blue Mountain Resort. “We are thrilled to have him join our growing team as we continue to expand our activity lineup with a keen focus on guest satisfaction.”

Previously a member of the U.S. Snowboard Team, Wynen is also a certified mountain bike and snowboard coach and will “play an important role in managing sales strategies for Blue Mountain’s diverse lineup of outdoor activities,” Dailey says. Offering a range of camping options, the resort also features mountain biking trails, top-notch winter sports, an outdoor adventure park, ski-racing programs, and more.
