JetBlue, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Fraport USA announced a major refresh of JetBlue’s flagship terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in early March. The update will include the addition of more than 40 new concessions, as well as art installations and a redesigned center concourse.
The spotlighting of New York’s unique landscapes and cultures is at the forefront of the redesign. New York food and beverage favorites such as Jacob’s Pickles, Tiki Chick, Serafina, Benateri’s, The Gotham Burger Social Club, Birch Coffee, Nom Wah, Devoción, Leon’s Bagels, DiFara, and more will be added to its concession options. Inspired by the city’s famous parks, the transformed center concourse will feature lush greenery, park benches, concrete chess tables, warm lighting, and a dedicated space for pop-up experiences such as live performances. A collection of artworks created by New York-based artists will also be displayed throughout the terminal.
“I am thrilled to see this transformative project take flight, creating good-paying jobs, empowering small businesses, and driving economic growth while establishing JFK’s Terminal 5 as a state-of-the-art, world-class gateway,” says U.S. Rep. Gregory W. Meeks in a prepared statement. “In addition to bringing the vibrant spirit of New York to the terminal, this project will uplift local communities by ensuring New Yorkers have a direct stake in its success and lasting impact through construction, business partnerships, and over 40 new concessions.”
The first new concessions are expected to open throughout 2025, with the terminal improvements slated to complete by the end of next year.
