Connecticut-based RTR Hospitality Group is bringing new life to the former Savin Rock Conference Center building in West Haven, Connecticut, which has been vacant since 2019. Built in 1971, it encompasses 23,554 square feet and will now be reimagined as The Kelsey at Savin Rock, a coastal restaurant and event venue with sweeping Long Island Sound views.
Expected to open at the end of the year, The Kelsey will feature an American coastal-inspired restaurant focused on fresh seafood, a raw bar, handcrafted pastas, and elevated comfort classics like burgers. Flexible indoor dining rooms will convert into elegant event and banquet spaces, while outdoor decks and a rooftop bar will offer views of the water.
The redevelopment preserves the footprint of the original city-owned building while introducing a refreshed façade, modern amenities, elevators, and thoughtfully designed spaces for live music, indoor and outdoor dining, and private events.
