More than 50,000 guests are expected to visit Atlantic City this week due to two popular events taking place in the area.
Both events are bringing in a large amount of people with 50,000 slated for the Progressive Atlantic City Boat Show at the Atlantic City Convention Center and 15,000 for the Battle at the Boardwalk National cheerleading competition at Boardwalk Hall.
Local businesses are expected to gain a large increase in spending and visitors as a result of the events. Spending is estimated to reach more than $5.2 million and 2,564 hotel room nights have been contracted.
The boat show kicked off Feb. 4, allowing visitors to see and shop for the latest boats and accessories. They also can receive hands-on learning from boat experts. The show will last for five days, concluding on Feb. 8. Tickets can be purchased here.
The cheerleading competition, hosted by Spirit Unlimited will take place Feb. 7 and 8. Future world champions will make an appearance. Two full-paid bids and four at-large bids to the Cheerleading Worlds will be awarded. Tickets can be purchased at the Boardwalk Hall Box office.
