Much like Oprah’s infamous reveal of free cars to those in her audience in 2004, Marilyn Denis—host of The Marilyn Denis Show—made an exciting announcement.
During her show—based in Canada—Denis explained she would give a Pittsburgh Getaway Package to all 75 audience members. Coordinated by VisitPittsburgh, the gift culminated Denis’ annual “10 Days of Giveaway” series.
The package feature two nights at the Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel and free airline travel to and from Pittsburgh International Airport courtesy of Porter Airlines Inc.
“The Toronto market is a very important one for us, and we jumped at the opportunity to reach Marilyn Denis’ audience,” says Matthew Sterne, general manager of the Four Diamond Fairmont Pittsburgh. “We love Marilyn’s Pittsburgh connection and know that she is a trusted source in Canada. We also know that visitors need only experience Pittsburgh once to understand what makes our city so special, and we look forward to welcoming these guests to Fairmont Pittsburgh.”
The Pittsburgh prize package, which can be redeemed anytime during 2016, also includes complimentary meals and entry fees to some of Pittsburgh’s most unique restaurants and attractions, including:
- The Andy Warhol Museum
- Duquesne Incline
- National Aviary
- Pittsburgh Tours and More
- Monterey Bay Restaurant
- Church Brew Works
- Pamela’s Diner
- Primanti Brother’s Restaurant
- Welcome PITTSBURGH Information Center and Gift Shop
“This will generate excellent exposure for our city, provide an opportunity for us to share the Pittsburgh story with The Marilyn Denis Show viewers across Canada and to show why our city is being called ‘cool,’ ‘hip’ and a ‘Must-See Place to Visit,'” says Craig Davis, president/CEO of VisitPittsburgh. “The Marilyn Denis Show wanted their audience to experience some of Marilyn’s favorite Pittsburgh restaurants and attractions and to see things that that you can only find in Pittsburgh, and we look forward to welcoming her fans to our city next year.”
