Those looking for activities and areas to explore in the Lehigh and Northampton counties can now simply turn on their television instead of combing the Web for ideas.
Discover Lehigh Valley, the destination marketing organization for the area, partnered with RCN and Service Electric television stations to give viewers a taste of the Lehigh Valley area on Channel 189.
The channel runs 24 hours a day and showcases the area’s most popular attractions, events and restaurants. The purpose of the television spot is to promote the area as a tourist destination and show residents and visitors alike the plethora of activities in which they can participate in Lehigh Valley.
Programming changes on a monthly basis and will come from the CVB’s video series, which includes:
- Lehigh Valley Vision is a series with a number of episodes that show attractions such as Dutch Springs, downtown Bethlehem and the Great Allentown Fair.
- DISHcover Lehigh Valley shows behind-the-scenes footage of area restaurants such as Molinari’s and Youell’s Oyster House.
- Pet-Friendly Travel Accommodations and Attractions allows those who travel with pets to find places in which they can stay and areas in which they can visit.
“Discover Lehigh Valley TV is another way for Discover Lehigh Valley to reach not only those living in the greater Lehigh Valley area, but also those visiting from out of town,” says Kim Lilly, executive vice president of the CVB. “We have also partnered with a number of local hotels to have Discover Lehigh Valley TV featured on their in-room programming for guests to view before heading out in the area.”
