GLOBAL SPECTRUM WELCOMED MORE THAN 16,000 ATTENDEES TO ATLANTIC CITY

By M+E Staff

Global Spectrum, facility managers of the Atlantic City Convention Center and Boardwalk Hall, recently welcomed Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, the WWE and over 16,000 attendees for an action-packed weekend.

The pop and Latin music icons entertained a crowd of almost 12,000 people on Friday, September 26. The following evening, Randy Orton and company slammed into the rind for WWE Live at Boardwalk Hall with 4,000 fans.

Boardwalk Hall event attendees contributed significantly to the local Atlantic City economy while in town for the events. A post-event survey sent to online ticket purchasers indicated:
  • 54 percent of ticketholders dined in Atlantic City restaurants before or after the event
  • 42 percent of ticketholders gambled in a local casino
  • 32 percent of ticketholders stayed at an Atlantic City hotel during their visit for the event
  • 54 percent spent more than $100 during their time in Atlantic City outside of Boardwalk Hall on food, gambling, accommodations or retail
  • 62 percent of ticketholders traveled more than 50 miles to attend the event

The local economic boost continued in the following weeks as the Atlantic City Convention Center hosted two additional meetings and conventions. The convention center also hosted 850 guests from 52 lottery organizations during the 2014 North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries Annual Conference that took place from September 30 through October 2.
