As predicted, the 2015 Great American Outdoor Show made a more than $70-million economic impact on the Hershey Harrisburg Region.
This year, the show, which took place Feb. 7–15 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, brought an estimated $73 million to the area—a 4 percent increase from last year.
Broken down into categories, the numbers show even higher improvements: 2.3 percent attendance increase; 14 percent occupancy increase in Dauphin County; $180,000 in City Admission & Amusement Tax Revenue; and the support of 8,000 jobs.
This was the second year the show was hosted in Harrisburg, due to a five year-agreement that was signed between the National Rifle Association (the host) and the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex.
