HARRAH’S ATLANTIC CITY WATERFRONT CONFERENCE CENTER REACHED CONSTRUCTION MILESTONE

By M+E Staff

The final beam for the Harrah’s Atlantic City Waterfront Conference Center was just installed. The completion of this project is dire for the survival of Atlantic City’s future. The new conference center is set to open in August 2015.

“There are so many Fortune 500 companies in the area that do large product launches and have national sales meetings and are forced to go to Dallas or Orlando or Las Vegas. These are all fine destinations but we want to see them be able to stay here at home in the fine state of New Jersey,” said Michael Massari, Caesars Entertainment senior vice president of national meetings and events.

Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center will be the largest venue of it’s kind across the northeast. The venue features two 50,000-square-foot ballrooms that can be rearranged and organized to split into 29 individual spaces and accommodate for up to 5,000 guests.

“This is a great day for Atlantic City,” said New Jersey Senate president, Stephen Sweeney. “Atlantic City has a phenomenal future…Atlantic City hasn’t seen its best days yet. Atlantic City’s best days will be as a resort again.”

With one third of the U.S. population living within driving distance of Atlantic City, Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center will become a go-to destination for meeting planners, where currently only one percent of the $16 billion industry is going.
