Moo-Duck Brewery to Introduce Creative Brews and Taproom

By M+E Staff

Found in Elizabethtown, PA Moo- Duck Brewery isn’t your average brewery. Mike Brubaker takes a culinary approach to the brewing of these craft beers.

Starting in October the public will be able to sip on these quirky craft beers with names like Hopricot Hoppy Apricot Pale Ale or Purple Carp Irish Red at the new taproom, which will be located at 79 S. Wilson Ave. With other microbrewers located across the state, Moo-Duck is not alone.

Elizabethtown won as the location for Moo-Duck because it is where the Brubaker’s live, as well as the fact that they would be the only brewery in the city. The location for the taproom is an old wig shop. After a complete renovation, the taproom will be open Thursday-Saturdays and will seat 50 people.

Moo-Duck will not just have an assortment of craft beers but also some food options including hot dogs, sausage and meatball sandwiches and popcorn, all using local ingredients. However, the beer is the main attraction. The eight-tap system will carry six beers at one time, ranging from Moo-Duck’s traditional releases to its Off the Rail series of beers made with non-traditional ingredients.

With a repertoire of over 100 beers, only 25 will be brewed in the beginning. Moo-Duck produces its beer in one and a half barrel batches, which allows the Brubakers to rotate selection on the taps. Customers will be able to order pints in the taproom and also purchase growlers to take home.
