VisitPITTSBURGH has announced the hiring of Tom Loftus as vice president of communications.
In his new role, Lofts will be in charge of managing and executing all internal and external communications programs, while also incorporating multimedia and digital communication tools that support and enhance the organization’s goals and mission.
Prior to this, Loftus served as the director of marketing and media relations for the Allegheny County Bar Association in Pittsburgh since 2003. There, he worked on a media relations program that helped bring the organization positive local, national and international media exposure. His experience included television ad campaigns, social media efforts and school programs. Other bar association across the country now use these as media models.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be in a position that will allow me to help enhance this city’s reputation,” says Loftus. “Pittsburgh has so much going for it already, and I’ll be proud to do what I can to promote this great city.”
Loftus is a Pittsburgh native who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in English writing.
