The Board of the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority recently approved a number of measures related to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.
One such measure is an agreement between Spectra Venue Management—manage of the CRDA-owned Boardwalk Hall and Atlantic City Convention Center facilities—and Philadelphia Sound, Inc. for the design and construction of sound equipment upgrades to the Adrian Phillips Ballroom in Boardwalk Hall. An additional agreement was approved for upgrades to the ballroom—that between Spectra and Earl Girls, Inc. for a lighting upgrade design and construction.
“The Adrian Phillips Ballroom is a wonderful, historic venue and these upgrades will allow us to utilize it for concerts, performances, boxing matches and more,” says John Palmieri, executive director, CRDA.
Excitingly, the Board also approved an agreement to create a new master plan design for the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Additionally, the Board gave preliminary and final site plan approval for Endeavor AC, LLC.’s revamp of the former Atlantic Club Hotel and Casino site and its surrounding properties on Sovereign and Pacific avenues and along the Boardwalk. The project will renovate the hotel and build new restaurants, retail, meeting rooms, ballrooms, a family entertainment center and more.
“We look forward to working with Endeavor on this development,” says Palmieri.
