Pittsburgh International Airport is set to open its new terminal early next year, the fruit of the Allegheny County Airport Authority’s labor that will mark the completion of the Terminal Modernization Project that began in 2017. The terminal is set to replace the existing Landside Terminal and will be 811,000 square feet—the airport authority’s goals for the project include improved overall efficiency, enhanced customer experience, reduced operational costs, and greater sustainability for the airport. The project will also add a multilevel parking garage, and the program’s design team is complying with the LEED Environmental Product Decla-ration credit for building materials, while also seeking reductions in energy, emissions, water, and waste.
