Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia is home to over 80 merchants and vendors, with a wide variety of offerings for food. Housed in a historical train terminal, the market is a unique atmosphere and shopping location with a “Philly” vibe.

The market was named one of the 10 Great Public Spaces for 2014 by the American Planning Association. With over 100 spaces looked at, the Reading Terminal Market was an early contender due to its overall contribution to the city and it’s historical, economical, and cultural benefits.

“The market has a fascinating and colorful history and it’s located in a national historic landmark with great architectural character and pedigree,” Reading Terminal Market General Manager Paul Steinke said. “But the food is what we’re most known for.”

The market’s offerings are vast, including all the classics like cheesesteaks and hoagies, plus the widest variety of ethnic food in one place including Middle Eastern, Thai, Mexican, French, and Mediterranean, said Steinke. “The atmosphere, liveliness, and variety – the physical feel of the place is uplifting and fun,” he said.
