Red Jacket Resorts, a portfolio of destination resorts on Massachusetts’ Cape Cod, has embarked on a collection-wide makeover. During the first phase of the project, three of its five Mid Cape properties are undergoing a $40 million renovation: Red Jacket Beach Resort, Riviera Beach Resort, and Blue Water Resort, all in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The work is scheduled for completion ahead of this year’s summer season.

The renovation includes 397 newly designed standard guest rooms, family suites, and cottages; seven updated food and beverage outlets; refreshed lobbies and meeting and event spaces; and upgraded beachfront amenities and pool areas. “This year, we will be able to offer our corporate groups the same quintessential Cape Cod experience they have come to love,” says Hollie Handrahan, general manager at Red Jacket Beach Resort. “Our new aesthetic, improved amenities, and customization options create more appeal to our versatile venues for events, retreats, and meetings.”

All three renovated low-rise resorts are located on picturesque South Shore Drive and in proximity to the charming towns dotting Cape Cod, hiking and biking trails, and boating opportunities. Each one in the trio offers private beaches, swimming pools, family suites, and indoor and outdoor dining. Guests at any of the Red Jacket properties can enjoy access to the amenities and activities at the others.

The flagship Red Jacket Beach Resort features 163 rooms, a spa, and a tennis
court. Several versatile event spaces include the 3,500-square-foot Driftwood Ballroom, which seats up to 200 attendees and can be divided into three separate rooms. Riviera Beach Resort has 125 rooms while the adjacent dog-friendly Blue Water Resort has 109 rooms and a new restaurant concept. Both of the latter properties have event spaces for up to 100 attendees.

Red Jacket Resorts has been in business since 1968—the collection was acquired in 2021 by EOS Hospitality of New York City, one of the largest operators of independent hotels in New England.
