LOCATION » York County, Pennsylvania’s top tourist region, is located in the southeast region of the state. The county lies just above the Mason-Dixon Line, and is bounded to the east by the Susquehanna River. The area is within driving distance of major metropolitan areas including Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. Popular destinations, including the battlefields of Gettysburg and Hershey’s Chocolate World, are less than one hour away.

MUST-SEES » York County is home to an abundance of indoor and outdoor attractions. History buffs will want to check out the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, where individuals of all ages are welcome to experience classic cars and motorcycles. Sports enthusiasts will be happy to know that York County is home to a variety of golf courses that cater to a wide range of skill levels. The York Revolution, the area’s Atlantic League baseball club, serves as a family-friendly sporting option. Deemed the “Factory Tour Capital of the World,” York County gives tourists a peek at how some of America’s favorite products, such as Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, are made. The best part? Most factory tours are free. Wine aficionados won’t want to miss the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail, which gives tourists a glimpse of the area’s many prominent vineyards. Beer lovers shouldn’t hesitate to explore the Susquehanna Ale Trail, featuring 14 area breweries and alehouses.

HOTELS » The area is home to 28 hotels and motels. The Yorktowne Hotel—a Historic Hotel of America— is a property featuring wood paneling and high ceilings located in the center of Downtown York. The county also features numerous bedand-breakfasts and pet-friendly properties to ensure that needs are met for all visitors. For camping and RV enthusiasts, look no further than Ben Franklin Park, fully equipped with electricity, Wi-Fi, a laundry room and heated bathrooms with showers.

RESTAURANTS » The diverse restaurants of York County are sure to please, regardless of the occasion. Youngsters are sure to love the arcade and casual environment at Bogey Macaws American Grille. For a more upscale experience, check out Blue Heron, a French Bistro serving Mediterranean dishes paired with fine wines. Pastry seekers and coffee lovers will not be disappointed in York County. The area features numerous cafés and bakeries, including the Red Brick Bakery & Tea Room, which serves fresh-baked scones and pastries daily.
