A Boathouse With A View

By Brittany Trevick

On HGTV’s Kitchen Cousins, Anthony Carrino takes kitchens and flips them on their head—turning them from dull to drab.

And that is exactly what he did for Battello, a restaurant situated on the Hudson River in Jersey City, with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline.

“Battello’s environment evokes the industrial mood of a boathouse, while also exudes the luxury of fine waterfront dining,” says Cory Checket, managing partner.

The Italian-style restaurant, which features a number of repurposed items as décor, including a rowboat that hangs above the entrance, is available for private hire, with a number of spaces planners can rent.

The entire venue, which opened last year, can be used for an event, but planners can also take a mix-and-match approach with a number of private dining spaces available inside the restaurant. Unique features include a bridal suite and a 16-person private dining table in the wine cellar. Technological capabilities, including wireless Internet and audio-visual systems, can be found inside. Menus are customizable and can be used as a buffet, cocktail-style reception or a sit-down dinner.

“We believe that the flawless execution of any event—regardless of size or circumstance—requires collaboration between our team and the client,” says Dominique Borzomati, director of events.. “From the very first point of engagement, a member of our team is there, serving as a primary point of contact, providing exception attention to detail; and ultimately delivering on the client’s vision.”
