Catering That Does More than Taste (Really) Good

By M+E Staff

Whether you’re bringing in lunch for the team or scheduling a lunch and learn, office catering isn’t usually something that sparks a big conversation. Grateful Bites catering, however, will inspire a conversation because this nonprofit café in Flemington has a very special story behind it. As the mother of a son with developmental disabilities, Karen Monroy knew that Zachary’s options for employment were limited once he graduated from high school. She began thinking about what kids with autism and other developmental disabilities enjoyed, and cooking came to mind. After discussing the idea with a friend in the restaurant business who shared that she was looking for something more rewarding, Grateful Bites was born. The café teams up traditionally abled kitchen staff with developmentally disabled members such as Zachary. Together, they craft delicious comfort food with an edge for breakfast and lunch. From gourmet sliders and BBQ pulled pork sandwiches to salads, quiches, soups and breakfast treats, the menu runs the gamut and has an upscale comfort food flair. Don’t miss dessert, with options like cannoli cake, mocha decadence and chocolate-covered strawberry cake. The Star-Ledger named Grateful Bites one of the top 20 bakeries in the Garden State for good reason!

When you’re looking for something new to share with your clients or colleagues, do a little good and eat very, very well with catering by Grateful Bites.
