A Conference Hotel in Amish Country Gets a Makeover

By M+E Staff

Promising “a modern stay in Amish country,” the Wyndham Lancaster Resort and Convention Center has completed the final phase of a $30-million multi-year makeover of the entire property, including its 317 guest rooms, event space, common areas and grounds.

Located on 200 bucolic country acres, the property boasts over 100,000 square feet of versatile event space comprised of 28 venues that can accommodate an intimate board meeting of 20, a banquet for as many as 1,500 guests or a conference for 2,000 attendees. Amenities include an 18-hole championship golf course, a 1.9-mile walking trail, basketball and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools and an arcade game room. Wi-Fi is always free, as is overnight parking. The resort is easily accessible, 40 minutes from Harrisburg International Airport and a 90-minute drive from both Philadelphia and Baltimore.

Michelle Weinhold, senior sales manager, notes that “out ideal location” is close to Pennsylvania Dutch Amish attractions. Group outing of all sorts can be arranged. That includes farm tours, buggy rides, hot air balloon rides, helicopter tours, visits to the historic Strasburg Rail Road and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and even transportation to nearby outlet shopping. wyndhamhotels.com
