Vanillamore Dessert Kitchen‘s Bloomfield Avenue space nears completion and is expected to open in September. Risa Magid Boyer, Vanillamore’s 29-year-old chef/owner, has been refining her concept for more than two years and while sweets are definitely a focus, they’re not the only thing offered.
Boyer, who trained at the Culinary Institute of America, will be offering a range of options for sharing: “Charcuterie” Boards with Dark or Milk Chocolate “Salami”; shortbreads, compotes and mousses; Tapas of S’mores, Milk + Cookies and Dessert Kebabs; and flavor-themed Dessert Flights.
Vanillamore’s seasonal savory menu will feature cured meats and artisanal cheese; share plates (think Buffalo Cauliflower Bites; Roasted Beets + Herbed Goat Cheese) and an array of toasts, salads and grain bowls. Saturday and Sunday brunch means house-made quiches and, of course, pastry baskets.
Vanillamore will feature a 12-seat U-shaped “kitchen table” that’s perfect for communal dining, group outings (team-building), and, eventually, classes.
