It’s all cake, all the time at Carlo’s Bakery, especially at the newly opened Lackawanna factory. This Jersey City factory isn’t just a headquarters for all eight bakeries run by Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, it’s also an interactive event venue. The Lackawanna factory houses a classroom designed for both public and private classes. The classroom is also attached to a small ballroom that can fit a maximum of 100 people for corporate events or meetings. Attendees can expect full-service catering, ranging from a full dinner to a cocktail hour in the small ballroom, but don’t miss out on the teambuilding activities. Each attendee receives a prebaked cake and a Carlo’s Bakery apron and is then guided by a bakery professional with a demonstration detailing techniques and tips on cake decorating. It is common for groups to divide into teams and decorate their cakes amidst light competition. Groups are also offered a full tour (which includes the decorating and baking rooms) of the 75,000-square-foot facility, where the TLC hit-show Cake Boss is filmed.
