The Frog and the Peach in New Brunswick was honored by The Garden State Culinary Arts Awards on May 7 with the prize for “Best Restaurant in New Jersey.”
Modeled after the James Beard awards, these are state’s first juried food awards. Nominations were sought from the public, and then the GSCAA executive committee, consisting of food writers around the state, named ten nominees in 13 categories.
The Frog and The Peach has been one of New Jersey’s top restaurants since 1983. Bruce Lefebvre, executive chef since 2000, bought the restaurant in 2012. Lefebvre was trained at The Culinary Institute of America and is lauded for his modern take on American cuisine. He also shares a passion for local New Jersey products and fish.
