As America celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026, Middlesex County invites planners and attendees to explore the rich heritage that has shaped its communities. Middlesex County is one of the oldest counties in New Jersey, established in 1683, and Gen. George Washington and his troops celebrated the second anniversary of American independence along the banks of the Raritan River in Piscataway and New Brunswick in 1778. Starting this year, planners and attendees in the county can enjoy a series of events, programs, and activities honoring the 250th year since the founding of the U.S.

Middlesex County offers plenty of activities for groups to take part in outside meeting hours, including diverse culinary experiences, visiting historic sites, seeing a show at top-notch performance venues like the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center or State Theatre New Jersey—both in New Brunswick—and outdoor activities from hiking and birding to playing a game at top-notch sports facilities. There is something in Middlesex County for everyone.
