Lonely Planet, a travel guidebook publisher, named Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as one of its international top 10 destination cities in the 2024 Best in Travel list. The other cities honored are Nairobi, Kenya; Paris, France; Montreal, Canada; Mostar, Bosnia; Manaus, Brazil; Jakarta, Indonesia; Prague, Czech Republic; Izmir, Turkey; and Kansas City, Missouri.

Lonely Planet notes Philadelphia’s new openings, grand museums, culinary offerings, and the Pennsylvania Convention Center as factors warranting a trip to The City of Brotherly Love in 2024.

“We are thrilled to see Philadelphia named by Lonely Planet as one of the best cities to visit in 2024,” says Gregg Caren, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, in a prepared statement. “Philadelphia was recognized for its dynamism and vibrant museum and restaurant scenes, in addition to its sustainability and diversity. We are proud to see our city listed among other international greats, showing Philadelphia truly is among the world’s best destinations to visit, meet, and live.”
