Gallery One Visual Art Center opened in Ellensburg, Washington, on Aug. 29, 1968, as the Ellensburg Community Art Gallery. For the next 30 years, Eveleth Green served as the gallery director, and in 1994 the name was changed to Gallery One Visual Art Center. In April 1972, the gallery relocated to the second floor of the Stewart Building.

Born in Ketchikan, Patti Mackey spent her childhood on Bainbridge Island and theSeattle area before returning to her hometown as an adult. “I was visiting my grandparents and ended up meeting a handsome fisherman,” says the fifth-generation Alaskan and Ketchikan Visitors Bureau CEO. “I moved back to Ketchikan and married him!” Located on Revillagigedo Island, Ketchikan offers a number of activities for locals and visitors alike, including fishing, beachcombing and camping.

The Mark Spencer Hotel has been immersed in art since it first opened its doors as the Nortonia Hotel in 1907. Located in the middle of Portland, Oregon’s West End district, it has welcomed artists such as Louis Armstrong, Spike Jones, Billy Barty and Sammy Davis Jr. In 1966, the Nortonia was remodeled and renamed The Mark Spencer Hotel. The oldest operating hotel in Portland’s metro area, it continues to showcase creativity. “Each floor is a nod to a different art form,” says Cydelle Higa-Johnston, director of sales.
