Astra Hotel, Seattle, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is located in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Washington just north of downtown Seattle. It features 265 overnight guest rooms, three on-site culinary destinations, and 7,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space. Most recently, it debuted an update to its catering options, now offering services to all off-site venues and businesses in the South Lake Union area in addition to its existing on-site catering service.
“There are separate menus curated for breakfast, lunch, and dinner across groups small and large, all of which can be made in-house by Astra’s talented Executive Chef Gerald Gutierrez and the catering team, served for on-site events and delivered as an event service throughout South Lake Union,” says Alleah Pac, director of sales and marketing at Astra. Planners can select from an array of courses featuring locally grown ingredients to create an event menu their attendees will enjoy.
For those looking to gather on-site, Astra’s 7,500 square feet of function space spans seven event rooms. Pac notes that the hotel’s sweet spot is groups of five to 190, with its largest room—the 2,060-square-foot Luna Ballroom—able to hold up to 240 theater-style. More intimate spaces include the 174-square-foot Chroma Room and the 343-square-foot Aura Room. Larger rooms include the 1,767-square-foot Halo Junior Ballroom.
Planners can also consider a full buyout of Astra’s rooftop Altitude Sky Lounge, which features 2,500 square feet of space in total and a capacity of up to 190 guests reception-style. Altitude also features a smaller semi-private event space for up to 60 in 900 square feet of space. For a bite to eat before or after an event, attendees can visit Otium Grill & Greens on the lobby level, which serves a menu of plant-based proteins, lean meats, and fresh greens in addition to wines, craft beer, and other spirits. Caffe Ladro is located in the lobby itself and serves a range of coffee blends, a rotating menu of specialty coffees, baked goods, and other breakfast options.
“[Other] amenities include The Take Away gift shop filled with local goods, immersive art installations, valet parking, a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, and a 24-hour business center,” adds Pac. “Guests can also enjoy the convenient and unique service of Sparky, Astra’s robot butler.” When asked about what the future is looking like for Astra in the meetings and events industry, Pac says it’s looking bright and innovative. “Planners and attendees can expect attentive service, tech-forward spaces—including digital signage and digital reader boards—and creative, custom menus tailored perfectly to any group.”
