Bogus Basin Adds the Mineshaft Challenge Course

Just north of Boise, Idaho, groups are reaching new heights

By Emma Conway

Roughly 20 miles from Boise, Idaho, Bogus Basin is known as the area’s accessible and affordable mountain recreation area—and now it has expanded. Standing at 55 feet tall, the new Mineshaft Challenge Course will take the thrill seekers in your group to new heights. After suiting up in a harness and helmet, attendees can strap in for a fun, high-altitude experience.

The course features three levels ranging in difficulty to accommodate each attendee’s preferences. On average, it takes participants 55 minutes to complete the course—climbing, balancing, and walking through various obstacles that will test limits. End the adventure by zip lining down to solid ground, overlooking the breathtaking mountains. By the time the group is through, Bogus Basin can continue tailoring your group experience.

Whether it’s a corporate event, retreat, or seasonal fun, Bogus Basin offers many group accommodations in every season. This summer, groups can receive a discounted rate on the Mineshaft Challenge Course, the Glade Runner Mountain Course, and scenic chairlift, while skiing, snowboarding, and tubing will keep crews occupied come winter. When it comes to food and shelter, Bogus Basin has the group covered.

There are several lodging and catering options to accommodate your party. The epicenter of summer activities, the J.R. Simplot Lodge Area, can host up to 200 people. With a scenic view for meetings, the mid-mountain Pioneer Lodge is another excellent pick. A little smaller, this lodge welcomes groups of up to 150 people. Those looking for an outdoor alternative should consider The Upper Simplot Patio and Simplot Tent. The Upper Simplot Patio can seat up to 50 people for a casual gathering, while the Pioneer Tent can accommodate 120 guests. No matter the lodging location, Bogus Basin Catering is happy to serve lunch and dinner at your event, with several menu options to choose from. To reserve your spot, head to Bogus Basin’s website.
