Planners looking for a scenic locale in Idaho to host their meeting, event, or team outing will soon have a new option to consider: Twin Peaks Ranch State Park, the state’s first new state park to open in more than 20 years, is set to debut this summer on the site of a former guest ranch. The 677-acre park is located south of Salmon at the intersection of the Lemhi Range, Salmon River Mountains, Beaverhead Mountains, and Bitterroot Range, and it’s anchored by a renovated lodge featuring 24 overnight rooms, a full-service kitchen, communal dining room, laundry facilities, and event space (size and capacity information to come). Groups also will have access to a plethora of outdoor activities, including bird watching, fishing, horseback riding, biking, hiking, disc golf, and more.

If groups would prefer to visit the park as a team-building excursion, the city of Salmon is just 20 miles away and can serve as a basecamp for gatherings. The Stagecoach Inn sits right along the Salmon River and features 101 guest rooms, complimentary shuttle service to Lemhi County Airport, a relaxing riverfront patio, and The Lemhi Room for intimate meetings and events. There are a handful of other branded properties in the city that provide additional overnight lodging.
For alternative venue options in Salmon, Highlander Beer is a regional brewery with a second location in Missoula, Montana, and its Salmon outlet has an on-site conference room available for private event rentals. Just outside the city’s center is the Sacajawea Interpretive, Cultural, & Educational Center, which features a 71-acre scenic park groups can rent for events. The Learning Center on-site has an upper level with a capacity of 115 attendees standing and 80 banquet-style, and the lower level hosts 120 people standing and 100 banquet-style. Outdoor venues on the property’s grounds include an amphitheater, ranch yard, picnic area, and the Meriwether Theatre, all available for rentals as well.
