The ilani casino in Ridgefield, Washington, just north of Portland, is on its way to a major makeover. In celebration of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s 23rd annual anniversary of federal recognition, its Meeting and Entertainment Center will be expanded by nearly 70% with the addition of 10,000 square feet of space—a lucrative move to draw business and attract event planners, organizers, and entertainers. The space, which will feature an interior design reminiscent of the tribe’s history, will also include additional below-ground office space, a boardroom, and an enclosed smoking area with games.
“This development is the latest phase in the Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s long-term master plan, and it was always our goal to be able to offer flexible, mixed-use space,” says Kara Fox-LaRose, president and general manager of ilani.
Ilani’s Meeting and Entertainment Center is no stranger to big names, as the space has hosted legendary acts such as Pitbull and Boyz II Men since its opening in 2018, along with myriad other events and gatherings.
Additionally, the expansion will be a profitable asset to the Cowlitz Tribe and community. The ability for the casino to maintain economic momentum via their hosting of events and entertainment is directly tied to the Tribe’s livelihood, and the additional space will sustain the investments on the reservation.
Above all, ilani is committed to curating a guest’s positive experience. While the casino is in simultaneous preparation for their luxury hotel opening, this space will be both convenient and compelling.
“Being able to enhance the overall ilani experience for our guests is something we look forward to most,” adds Fox LaRose. “… This new expansion will only further build the Meeting & Entertainment Center’s reputation as a marquee venue in the Pacific Northwest, drawing more interest to our region.”
