Marin Welcomes Diners at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle

The new restaurant presents a menu that blends Pacific Northwest fare with coastal delicacies from around the world—plus on-site private dining space for groups

The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle in the city’s downtown welcomed its signature restaurant, Marin Seattle, at the end of June. In addition to a menu that spotlights classic Pacific Northwest fare and other coastal-inspired cuisines, the culinary outlet features two designated private dining rooms available for groups and events. The restaurant’s debut comes shortly after the hotel wrapped up a renovation project earlier in June.

“Marin is a modern coastal restaurant that captures the spirit of Seattle’s unique environment where the land meets the sea,” says Robin Posey, executive chef at Marin, in a prepared statement. “The menu at Marin is our way of showing love to the Pacific Northwest, but with a global twist. We have pulled inspiration from different coastal regions, so every dish feels like guests are being transported [elsewhere].”

Marin’s staple menu items include grilled British Columbia king salmon, Moroccan rotisserie chicken, and Oregon tuna tartare. One of the signature shareable starters is the mezze with homemade pita and the smoked trout dip, and vegetarian options also are available.

The two private dining areas at Marin are The Cove, which accommodates 40 people, and The Perch, which can host up to 15. Larger groups can book both together for a total capacity of 55 attendees. Marin’s patio also accommodates groups, and the restaurant is the primary caterer for all events hosted at the hotel.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle houses 189 guest rooms and some 6,000 square feet of event space. The Paris Ballroom is located on the hotel’s ground floor and accommodates up to 220 people, while the Vienna Room accommodates 74. Additional function spaces include the Fremont Room, Admiral Ballroom, and the Bombay Room, among others.
